Christmas?

We were walking through the supermarket,
And what did we see?
Christmas trees being put up,
My kids responded excitedly.
"Is it almost Christmas, Dad?"
They began to happily ask,
I settled down to break bad news,
Never a happy task.
"Christmas is three months from now,
The stores is getting ready,
For the rush that will happen,
The days will soon get heady.
But we have a long time to wait,
Plenty of time at hand,
The stores do this every year,
For reasons only they understand."
